Let me tell you a little more about myself:

I grew up, in an area that the locals refer to as Whitehorse. Whitehorse is an area that well, sits just below Whitehorse mountain up near Darrington, WA. In my youth, you could find me building forts, on horseback, riding my bike, or swimming down at our favorite swimming hole. But on top of being a mountain-girl tomboy, I was also drawn to the arts. When not outside, I was drawing or oil painting. Sometimes, I would bring my sketchbook on some of my forested adventures and find a lovely place to sit and draw.

In my teens, I taught myself how to play the guitar and formed a punk/grunge band that was heavily influence by bands such as Soundgarden, Nirvana, Hole, Bikini Kill, 7 Year Bitch, Mudhoney, and Tad. It was the mid/late nighties and it was a thing for some of us around here. At 20, I moved to Seattle where I lived a block away from Kerry Park on Queen Anne for four years and then the Capital Hill area for another four. While schlepping coffee in downtown, I met my husband. It was a love at first site kind of thing. I’m a sucker for romance.

Anyway, I’ll skip ahead here and get to the part where I picked up a camera and decided to start taking pictures. I ramble on sometimes. After the birth of our first child, I started dabbling with photography. And my son, and soon daughter became the focus of work. I’m sure most moms here know what I am talking about. Eventually, I asked friends if I could practice on them, and so on and so forth. The story evolves from there.

You see, art has been at the core of my being for as long as I can remember, whether it’s sketching with charcoal, painting nature scenes, playing music, or taking pictures. My approach to photography (and life) is heavily influenced by art and nature: the shapes, textures, colors... I take this love of nature and I meld it around authentic human connections. What I mean by that is that I want for my clients to be themselves. Some clients are romantic, some are playful… Moods and vibes can be all over the place and I love that. Whatever the case, be you and I’ll do the rest.
