Clear, simple guidelines to help your session run smoothly.


This page outlines my studio policies so you always know what to expect.

Everything here is designed to protect your time, your experience, and your memories — while keeping the process stress-free and supportive.

 

BOOKING + PAYMENT

Retainer


• A $100 non-refundable retainer (Portrait) and a $500 non-refundable retainer is required to reserve your session date.

• Your date is officially secured once the retainer and signed contract are completed.


Final Balance


• The remaining balance is due 7 days before your session.

• Wedding balances follow your wedding contract (typically due 1 week before).

• Venmo/Paypal

• Other options available upon request

RESCHEDULING

Client Reschedules


• Life happens — kids get sick, partners have long days, you don’t feel like yourself.

• You may reschedule once at no charge with 24 hours’ notice.


Sickness Policy


• If you or your child is sick, please reschedule.

• Sick kids aren’t comfortable, and it always shows in photos.

• No penalty for illness.


Weather Reschedules


• There is absolutely no problem rescheduling for weather.

• If conditions are unsafe or the weather will negatively impact your session, I will recommend that we reschedule.

• No fees for weather-related reschedules — ever.


Additional Reschedules


• A second reschedule may require an additional fee, depending on availability.

WEATHER

PNW Reality


• Cloudy? Beautiful.

• Light rain? We can still shoot if you feel comfortable.

• Heavy rain, storms, unsafe conditions, or extremely poor visibility?

We reschedule.


Mountain Locations


• Certain destinations (like Picture Lake, Artist Point, etc.) may require chains or seasonal closures.

• If conditions are unsafe, we choose a safer backup location or reschedule.


Ocean Locations


• Wind, tide, and surf conditions are considered for safety and comfort.

ARRIVAL TIME

• Please arrive on time so you receive the full session experience.

• Your session cannot be extended if you are late.

• If you’re running behind, message me as soon as possible — I totally get it, and we’ll adjust calmly.

TRAVEL

• Travel within 30 miles of Granite Falls is included.

• Beyond that, travel is charged for distances to and from location, at the current IRS mileage rate.

• Destination, ferry, or toll costs may apply depending on location.

GALLERY DELIVERY

Turnaround Time


• Full gallery in 6 weeks

• Weddings delivered in 12 weeks

Delivery dependent upon current workload.


Image Quantity


• A minimum of 35 images will be delivered

• I do not release RAW or unedited images

• All delivered images receive my full editing treatment


Storage


• Galleries remain online for 30 days

• Please download and back up your images as I do not save galleries on my end

CANCELLATION

Client Cancellation


• The $100 retainer is non-refundable.

• If you cancel your session completely, the retainer covers the time spent reserving your date and turning away other clients.


Photographer Cancellation


• In the rare event I must cancel due to emergency or illness, you will receive:

• A rescheduled date or a full refund of all payments made.

SAFETY & LIABILITY

• Your safety is my top priority at all times.

• For outdoor sessions, I avoid locations that are unsafe, slippery, or too steep for families or little ones.

• I am not responsible for accidents or injuries during the session.

CHILDREN & FAMILY EXPECTATIONS

• Kids are allowed to be themselves — silly, shy, wild, or quiet.

• No pressure for perfect behavior.

• Breaks are totally normal.

• I guide softly and follow your child’s energy to keep the experience positive.

OUTFIT & APPEARANCE POLICIES

• Please arrive fully ready (hair, makeup, clothing).

• Avoid wrinkles, logos, neon, and anything uncomfortable.

• Bring backup outfits for babies or toddlers if needed.

 

My goal is always to create a warm, calm, and meaningful experience.
